Messier 13, the Great Globular Cluster in Hercules, is a globular cluster of several hundred thousand stars in the constellation of Hercules. M13 is a favorite target and one that’s reasonable to shoot right at the Summer Solstice, where there’s pretty much no true darkness so fainter targets are hard to capture. M13 is so big and bright it’s easy to see why it’s one of the more popular celestial subjects for astrophotographers!
